10/18/2006: "Top 5 Cool things...on the web..."

music: Acoustic Africa
mood: Cool.

Been exposed to some cool websites over the last few weeks. Thought I would continue to spread the word a bit on some amazing stuff out there...

Even better than the Shark Cam at the Monterey Bay Aquarium it the Live Africa Cam on the National Geographic site. WOW. Very cool to see Botswana in real time.
They also have a Kakadu Cam for those looking to see Australia in real time.

The X prize is a fascinatingly Capitalistic approach to encouraging progress for good. The X prize for Space is nothing new but they have other X prizes in the works. I read through Anousheh Ansari's Space blog and it was pretty interesting. I wonder if I will get a chance to go into space? sleepy

A Demonstration that some people have a whole lot of time on their hands, and these people are also very weird.

My quasi- obsession with Portuguese landed me an interesting local site. You can listen to the Portuguese Radio Network. how cool is that? Well I thought so anyway. If only you could learn by just listening. I've tried falling asleep to my portuguese language tapes to no avail. I still have no idea what I am saying.

Think you area genius. Think they should pay you the big bucks. How do you measure up with these achievments? Lovely to see a VERY good playwright, and a Palo Altan in the list of this years recipients.

Off to Mount Shasta early Saturday morning with my brother to meet my parents for dinner on the Shasta Sunset Dinner Train. Very Excited. Beef Wellington. Sunset. Train. Crashing my parents anniversary. Priceless.

Winner of the Week: Honorary Cingular Support... Hamish Anderson. Now if I can just keep my phone away from all bodies of water, I will be able to use my new kick ass skills. rolls eyes
