03/15/2006: "home stretch...."
music: Carnival of the Animalsmood: Hazey
A combination of big fat nerd technical difficulties and the fact that life is a pinch cramped right now has left a huge gap in the bloggin experience. I WAS going to go home (at work now after a rehaersal at 5:30am) to burn my soundtrack, after finding a few more cues music and sound effect wise for the Magician's Nephew, but thought this may be my last chance for a while to get in all the thoughts tha have accumulated in me brain.
This show is HUGE technically in relation to what Tabard ususally does. ( my bad) and our load in on Sunday was effective, but noteffective enough. In addition to this being a new space and us being WAY short staffed, we just didn't get all we needed done during "business hours". They call is hell week for a reason. WE will persevere, but I have to say, despite the dams breaking in kauai, I am looking forward to Oahu on Sunday. I'm short a ride at 6:45 am on Sunday, but I'll walk if it means just getting on that plane. That and it has been NIPPY for a california girl. high 40's during the day....NOT okay. Granted I still weat flip flops and shorts, but still...Epic skiing says Scott/s dwag. he's headed to Utah this weekend the bum....oh wait... Hawaii...=] yeah I win.
Funny observations over the last few weeks.
A billboard that had an old billboard underneath it. the combination of the two ads read thusly:
Chronic hepatitis B can be a silent Killer. 400 million are infected. Many don't even know it is BEER. Join.
Well I thought it was funny.
I was also behind one of the worlds wost drivers. I found it none too comforting, but not surprising that the sticker on the back of the car said " National Guard Tactical Training or someting to that effect. I hope they hold a gun better.
Battlestar gallactica intrests but confuses me. Great acting, but I don't know what's going on. I keep thinking I'm watching lost. but in space. not to be confused with lost in space.
There's a directing prject in the works and an audition coming up, PLUS I will get to reinact my roles from Pear slices for the Tao House in Danville in May. $100 stipend and fillin in for one of the male characters should give that particular piece a VERY different read.
My 31st came and passed without any pomp and very little circumstance. highlight was a call from London from Rebecca and a call that Laurina was in town, though I didn't actualy get to see her. While we were loading in set I had a few friends come on by to help build, and cake (strawberry!!) and baloons were had! I worked most of the day and evening mounting this show or trying to...that sounds desparate doesn't it. I did get a chance to visit Cuan and Robert 4 at the new abode in Manteca. Nice digs, and to be honest a nice drive, very relaxing. Only just over an hour. I had to laugh as well as it's on Brennan at Tannehill. Irony. Cuan has a ruber chicken that kind of whines. I think he thinks it sounds like an injured puppy or animal of some sort, becuase he gets VERY upset, hold it delicatly in his mouth and just wanders looking for a place to put it. very odd.
I sent in my check for my speeding ticket ($197.03 thank you very much) almost two weeks ago and it hasn't been debited. I panic that it got sent to the right place. I panic more I think because I MIGHT have included a copy of my blog about officer Apollo in the envelope. and I MIGHT have put "cutest cop ever, worth every cent" on the memo section of my check....and I MIGHT have hoped that that would alert the clerk tohave a kind heart, and have someone sign off on it...like maybe that cop that pulled me over...and maybe I wouldn't have to pay...but if that happened...wouldn't they have to tell me...it's a mystery...I keep checking that balance...for what, I'mnot sure.
Putnam County Spelling bee was GREAT. WELL worth the $9 parking ( and THAT was validated) in SF. The show isn't mch to listen to on it's own, but AWESOME to watch! great stuff.
I cooked dinner for a small group opf travel types and watched a presentation on the global challenge yachting race that my friend Don competed in. It was STUNNING. GREAT phots, amazing stories. Very cool. A good time was had by all.
There was more, I know there was, but my face is greasy, I need a shower, and if I don't finish that sound track, which will easily take me until it's time to actually do artsopolis work I might go insane. I will need a drink Friday after Preview....thank GOD it's Saint Patricks day, I might actually have an excuse...oh wait... I don't need one of those.
Time to motor, shower and burn...

sorry i missed the load in and corresponding cake, but i'm in my own flavor of corporate hell. i signed up for the show in santa clara that you turned down, "little theater presents hamlet". hope it was the right choice. care to attend a few corporate bashes in San Jose next week? free booze, drunk single men, etc. Wednesday and Thursday, in conjunction with the Game Developers Conference.
