02/28/2005: "Oscars"

music: None
mood: sleepy

For those of you who missed the Oscars...you didn't miss much. Here's my sassy recap and my admittedly caddy report on tinsel town.

Chris Rock: Reminds me of my brother, SOOO much, he rocked and I liked his hosting and I think people find him to be likable. A standing ovation when he walked on was a good sign.

Dustin Hoffman: Drunk
Al Pacino: REALLY drunk
Antonia Bandaras: Needed less hair gel or a hair dryer. Still. I watched him sing. Why oh why is he wil Melanie Griffith. The world may never know.
Rene Zellweger: Anorexic
Hallie Berry: Very uneven boobs. ADJUST!
Cate Blanchet: Lovely.
MArtin Scorsese: Bitter
Leonardo: Over
Johnny Depp: God and the only man who I saw who didn't wear black. the man has style but his french waif of a wife could go missing and I wouldn't mind.
Brad and Jen: No where to be seen thank goodness.

Number of trips or stumbles on stage: 2
Number of random stage hands in the shot: 2
Worst Hair : Laura Linney sporting the something about mary gel look...eeeew
Just the Worst: Scarlett Johansen.
Best boobs: Oh my lord, Selma Hayeks breasts are just amazing. Tastfully covered, but alluring and like that's a lot coming from me.

Most skillfully mysterious thank you: Morgan Freeman, who FINALLY wins an oscar and looks up and says "thank, YOU" but you couldn't quite tell if he was thanking god and heaven or the fans in the balcony or the entire audience. VERY, good. Covered his bases either way in the brief to the point speech.

And there you go. Taping and watching most of it in fast forward and with funny Tann commmentary made it far more amsuing, I suggest getting a Tann for the next time you have to sit and watch an awards ceremony.

The search to find a new house is well on its way and I met a REALLY nice guy on Saturday and though the room is smaller than I can imagine cramming my stuff into the back yard has a waterfall, the house is happy yellow pn a quiet street, he owns a jeep and he is looking for someone very social. We definately had a great chat and I like the house ( have to take your shoes off, oh darn...) but we will see if fate is going to cooperate or has other plans for me. Cheaper than present place, and after a discussion with the present roomies, it would appear that since they do not feel comfortable with me having a party in their house, the location will be changed according to what I can find in the next week. I did ask if I did move into this place I looked at if I could have my party there and he said he would help me decorate, so that's a good sign=] Mark the 26th of march on your calendars as the day you help me move where ever I go...again.

Here's the analogy for week, it might be my only deep thought for a few. Life is like a game of computer solitaire. You have to deal first. You spend a lot of time playing until you actually win. You can try to cheat by undoing a move you make, but it rarely pays off, and if it does you don't really feel great about the win. You have "options" but they don't always make sense, or do you any good. and when you want to exit it asks you if you are going to quit. That never sits well with me. IN the end the game is called SOLITAIRE, and though that can be a good thing sometimes, it's nice to play with someone else sometimes.

Have a good one.

hehe hehe
