02/15/2005: "The Long and the Short"

music: my brain
mood: stable. for now.

The Beat goes on. I am in negotiations to direct a play in July at a WELL KNOWN local theatre. Will update end of week when the contract is signed. This comes after a bit of a blow having been rejected to direct a great play for Renegade Theatre Expiriment. The up side to that is they picked the only other person I could see potentially doing it, and it leaves me open to audition for it if I still haven't gotten on stage by that point. Auditioning for The Rainmaker at Northside and Chess at CMTSJ is coming up mid March as well as is Abscence of a Cello, A cute fluffy little comedy a Santa Clara Players. Easy Street is looking for a new venue, but hopefully will be doing Picasso at the Lapin Agile, which would be a great one to audition for as well. Someone needs to put me on stage soon though, I feel unwhole not having a place to either put all my recent emotions or something to distract me from them for a bit.

The living situation reamins about the same. I gave my outback steakhouse gift certificate I got for Christmas to Salim. He needed it more than I did, and it was a small attempt in my mind to ween myself of things Australian. Vika asked me if the roses on the counter were for me. uh...no, and while your at it, is this KNIFE yours, I found it in my back. They are for you. You are the one with the fiance. Need I remind you. And to be honest I don't really want to talk about how he never gets you flowers and this is so unlike him. I'm not bitter, but you sure don't use your head sometimes...bitter is not a far distance to go when someone offers to just take you there on the bullet train. No matter. next topic.

I think I have scored two tickets to A chorusline at AMT through the consierge association that I write an arts column for each month. Haven't confirmed but if anyone wants to join m on Tuesday Feb 22, should be entertaining as it's opening night. First come first serve.

Been asked by a few what I want for my birthday, and the is no space for much of the material, theough I have a few cd's on my amazon wish list. Admittedly though, I wouldn't mind the presents this year. I guess I earned it, still feeling unsure about if my mood is to difficult for others to handle and if I haven't been replaced by everyone with other firend, work, family, etc. So here are things I would be interested in in addition to my old self back, which I'm wagering you have little to no control over.

The Ring Two. I want to see this opening night, March 18th. I want milk duds too.
I have multiple passes to comedy at Rooster T Feathers, but would love it if someone else organized a night out, and I just showed up with the cupons.
I still have 2 passes to the Phantom of the opera movie for downtown san jose camera 12. Would love it if someone picked night and said lets go.
A day of hiking somewhere. Beach. Mountains. Something away.
Any sort of adventure or surprise, any reason to drink champange, and reason to laugh. ( I know I used to think you didn't need a reason, now I sorta feel I need be reminded)
The inside track on getting my children's plays published.
Someone who knows how to fix my cd player in my car...for free of course.

Over and out.
