09/24/2004: "Cursed shows, heros and loose ends for the week"

Greetings....the weeks been busy and the time between writing las and now is a large gap then I would like, but c'est la vie, so suck it up and deal.

Lion Wich and the Wardrobe is turning into a sick puzzle, as soon as one cast member is lost, one is found and then one is maybe lost and then one is maybe found...or not.

Still looking for a father xmas but we found our Aslan. Our Dwarf dropped out so the Elf is playing both the Elf and the Dwarf. Our Mr. Beaver has an terminally ill stepfather and may have to drop out, we have to find an understudy at the least....An Ice sprite dropped, and we may have a Banshee go missing as well. The Universe continues to taunt and tease but turn too. How's that for aliteration. Through Scheudle conflicts and no shows, there is joy and progress, but it's certainly a more exhausting & tentative process than would have been ideal. We have no idea and won't for some time be able to know if the set we designed and are waiting to construct will be able to be use as there are congregation members who are concerned about leaving lighting and other set pieces up in a way that their sanctuary will be disturbed or tarnished. I want the createive process for me to be more dominant but at the moment filling a cast, finding music and working on plan B and C's are sneakingly the more prominent action items. I should be quoted though in the upcoming Bay Area parent Magazine though soon...so there you go.

The Apprentice has started off 1 for 3 this season so far. Two episodes were blah, but LAST weeks was pretty good. I'm banking on a female winning this time around, but personalities haven't really materilaized quite yet from the men so we will see. It's my weekly pleasure...that and ER which aside from having new episodes very iregularly was quite entertaining this week.

Hero of the week award goes to Mark Hadden who wrote a GREAT book that even I could read with my busy schedule in a week. I read it for bookclub and it was reafreshingly new and original. I won't even give it away. Just get a copy.

Loser award of the week was me not checking (silly) the weather report and having an early Sunday Morning rain ( IN SEPTEMBER??!) drench my car. I think it might mold. I had a wet butt despite my efforts to towel off the seat. But what can you do. It made the pavement smell nice and watered some of the randome bulbs that insist to grwo in the strangest places. Very Little Shop of Horrors.

I am ever amazed at the pumkins and corn and sunflowers that grow and grow and grow in Chris's back yard. Ther eis a HUGE green and yellow spider I call Kermit who lives on a sunflower and has been caught red handed with a wasp. NICE! I have a picture...I post when I get a chance...

All other projects in life have me running about or doing the exact opposite when I have a moment in rebellion. Tonight A movie and beer by myself and if I am lucky a bath after working late so I don't have to come in over the weekend.
