07/15/2004: "Chloramine, Calcium, Hormones and Acne"

mood: Manic and then not so much, and then Manic and then not so much...

I welcome theories and pieceing my bits of info together here....

when I was younger as we know I spent a good portion of my time swimming as we know. Many hours in a chlorine pool. I also was a milk FIEND from about 7-19. I used to drink literally 3 or 4 big glasses of milk a day and I was known to go through nealry an entire half gallon in a day. We have many theories on this...

1) I was dehydrated from workouts and didn't like water (to drink).
2) I was a growing girl and perhpas calcium or vitimin defiecient
3) Milk hat fat which I was burning off like a mother with swimming
4) I was balancing out the testoterone produced from my exorcise with the estrogen like hormone found in small doses in Milk which come from the injections dairy cows get to stimulate more milk production.
5) Milk was my crack cocaine.

I also had an extended version of acne (Which never really bothered me, so don't feel all bad for me) from about age 12 through 18. We have theories on this as well...

1) I always was a little slow...late bloomer and all
2) I was allergic to something I didn't know about
3) It was my secret disguise so I could assume my super hero identity without being discovered.

Around the time I stoped swimming, I somehow lost interest in milk and almost stopped drinking it completely. the theories...

1) I suddenly wasn't thirsty anymore
2) I had FINALLY stopped growing
3) I suddenly grew paranoid I wasn't hip, and milk wasn't hip in college


4 things of interest related...

1)Chlorine combines with ammonia (found in pools eww) to form Chloramine.
2)The City of Palo Alto has just shifted to chloramine instead of chlorine for their water supply...supposedly it is more stable and more effective in santitizing water.
3) I have started to crave massive amounts of milk and have been drinking to appease my desire the only kind of milk I have drunk in over a year, which is non organic.
4) I have started to break out again.

So....the theories...

1) I am allergic to chloramine.
2) Chloramine dehydrates me, and makes me crave milk
3) The hormones in milk (non organic anyway) make me break out
4) I'm getting old and my body is changing and needs more calcium.
5) There is no conspiracy, I am just stressed and need to shower more.

A definite "hmmmmmmm" moment....
