 11/01/2004: "My First Short Film"

30-10-4

The guy stumbles to the fridge in dim light
The light spills outas he opens the fridge, illuminating the scene.

He removes one of those 20 litre industrial size bladders of milk,
looking somewhat like a shrivelled placenta…

He cradles it lovingly to his chest and brings the spout up to his mouth
He breathes gently into the bladder, slowly but not fully, inflating the bedraggled looking alien.

He breathes into the bladder, somehow giving it life
He takes several breaths in-and-out-of the bladder
and we watch it pulse; rise and fall with his breath.

He stops and looks down tenderly at the frail, now somewhat warmed creature in his arms
and realises that there is too little milk.

He throws back his head & hollers:

"I would dearly love some o that standard white for my fuckin canteloupe!"

"You stay here," he whispers, laying the little being gently back into the fridge, "I'm goin across the road…"

He closes the door
the light disappears

end of scene.
