02/11/2005: "Diary of a rockstar - 11-Feb-05"

Well, the DVD went out yesterday, and I got confirmation from UPS this morning that it was received. Now, its in the hands of whoever is in charge of opening up and viewing all the DVDs they get. I watched it again with my "manager", and her comment was "Very VH-1", which I must admit was the sort of look I was going for. Aside from a few grumbles with the audio, I was kind of pleased with how it turned out. Decide for yourself here (it's a 15M download, so be patient!).

Now I'm starting to plan my trip and the audition itself, and I'm getting excited! Whatever happens, its going to be fun... and I'm starting to work on the little details, such as a hair-stylist, wardrobe, and all those things that will make the difference between just-another-rock-singer and a contender!

Interestingly enough, the challenge on The Apprentice this week was to make a commercial for a new Dove Body wash. Both teams did crap jobs, and the "official" commercial was pretty lame too - so of course, because I was in such video-mode after my DVD-demo work, my scheming mind came up with an idea for a commercial that I just may send to Donny Deutsch! I came up with this idea while I was asleep mind you, I sometimes wish I could take my brain off the hook! I actually started a storyboard today, maybe I'll finish it and scan it in...

(Oh, the UPS package was signed for by someone called "Kash", which reminded me of a funny story for all you nerds out there - I was working in pre-sales support, and the Business Development engineer was presenting his quote to the customer. The quote listed out the elements of the design, and gave prices for some of the individual parts. The last line item was "$50,000 cash". Eyes shot up all around the room when they read this - they thought we were just asking them for a fifty grand cahce bonus just for working with them. The Nerds may already have spotted his typo - it should have read "$50,000 cache". OK, if you don't get it, go ask a goober-friend)

Sir,

NEXT CHALLENGE:

dija hear about this?

"I regret to announce my application to join Wu Tang Clan has been denied. And lest you think they had broken up, that was ECHELON disinformation.

Personally, I don't think they could handle the fucking pressure of having me in the clan."

Chris! Fantastic work! The only thing missing that I could see was a little graphic saying "Chris Tann, Singer and songwriter" on the interview sections of the audition.

Best of luck with the audition...not that you will need it! smile
