04/26/2004: "A wild night..."

I got home from the first rehearsal for my next show (yes, I am once again doing back-to-back shows), and sat outside for a beer and a goober. It is a beautiful night, the weather turned warm again just a few days ago, and at 10:00pm, it is still very pleasant out here with shorts and t-shirt. The crickets are chirping away, a few frogs are croaking (and the occasional wafting smell reminds me I must fix the fountain).

The first visitor was a racoon, who ambled past, hardly giving Bear or I a second glance. He didn't seem to be in a particular hurry, just out for an evening wander. The next visitor was one of our barn-owls, clicking away overhead. I'm not sure exactly why the sometimes screech, and sometime click, I guess they must have some sort of method to it all.

A few minutes later there was a rattle at the gate as one of the local cats came for a visit, but as soon as he saw Bear he changed his mind. There is a small pile of sand in the garden that several cats have started using as a litter box, and the occasional waft from over there reminds me I have to deal with that too. But for now, its just sit, watch the wildlife, and sip beer...

rolls eyes I envy you the wildlife. The only wildlife in our back yard are ants and spiders, caterpillars and snails. However, I don't envy the pong of stagnant water or cats. 30-ish here at the moment.

The weather is indeed great even down here in Palo Alto. Mom was complaining all day about it being too hot and I wasn't even in short. PERFECT for me. And I hear it was 80 stillin SF at 630 tonight, almost called to see if you wanted to grab some people and head up there and find an outdoor seaat at a cafe on the hill to just chill.....but didn't. Just got Home from dinner and seeing Ade's Artwork and having an interesting as always conversation with him. Hightschools, mad latinos and a few posers was the only wildlife we say though. Carpe Diem baby.
